CDMT stands for Ceramic Compact Metal Halide. These are the very latest generation of Metal Halide lamps. They have a greater sparkle than standard metal halide lamps and maintain their colour well throughout their lifespan. Small in size these lights are often used in retail display to "wallwash" or spot light merchandise but there is no reason why they shouldn't be used in a domestic environment.

Metal Halide lights give out 3 to 4 times more lumens per watt than low voltage lighting and have a lifespan of approx 12,000 hours compared to a lifespan of 2000 to 5000 hours for low voltage lighting. Mains GU10 and PAR lamps are less efficient than low voltage.
